DNS - Domain Transfer
Overview
There are two types of domain transfers: full transfers and DNS only transfers.
Full Transfers
Use this option if you want Point Clark Networks to become your domain's Registrar of Record (RoR). Full Transfers include the following services:
Transferring your domain has its advantages -- all your information is managed in one place making it easier to handle renewals, contact information, and billing. The Full Transfer from your old registrar (e.g. register.com, Verisign) is $25 per domain and includes a 12-month extension to your domain's current expiry date. There is a $25 annual fee to maintain each domain.
DNS Only Transfers
Use this option if you prefer keeping your current domain registrar. DNS Only Transfers include the following services:
There is a $20 annual fee to maintain each domain.

Additional Notes
- For successful transfers, the domain expiry will be extended by one (1) year
- Point Clark Networks cannot transfer domains that are On Hold or Past Due with the current registrar. Begin the registrar transfer process at least three to four weeks before the expiration date of the domain
- Before attempting to transfer a domain, make sure that the Admin Contact Email for the domain to be transferred is valid. If the Admin Contact Email address listed in the current WHOIS info is no longer valid, you must contact the original registrar to request it be changed.
- To check that status of your domain, login to your ClarkConnect account, click on the 'DNS' tab and then click on the Transfer Domain link in the left hand navigation bar. Enter your domain to lookup and click Submit.
- Provided the status of your domain is OK for transfer, complete the domain's owner/admin information on the form that is presented after the check status has been done.
- Continue the steps above for as many domains as you wish to transfer
- Process the domain transfer(s) by proceeding through the Online Store
- Add/configure your DNS records
- Once your order has been submitted, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the domain's current Admin contact from our domain partner - OpenSRS/Tucows. This confirmation e-mail contains instructions and a unique URL link to accept/deny the transfer request. For .biz/.info TLD's, you will also be required to provide an AUTH_CODE that was issued on the original registration of the domain.
- Once the Admin owner approves the transfer, the transfer will usually complete in 3-5 days, but could be as long as 9, depending on the losing registrar. You can speed this up by contacting the original registrar and specifically requesting that they approve the transfer.
- You will be notified by e-mail (sent to the address in your contact information) upon completion of the domain transfer. The final step requires you to manually edit the nameservers to:
o ns1.pointclark.net
o ns2.pointclark.net
o ns3.pointclark.net
o ns4.pointclark.net
Use the WHOIS Manager Update.
DNS Only Transfers
DNS Only Transfers work for all domains. To use the DNS Only Transfer, you must change the name servers associated with your domain (see DNS servers listed below). Contact your domain's current registrar for details. You should configure all of your DNS records in your account before you make the changes with your domain's registrar. This will guarantee that your domain will be available during the transition.
To start using DNS services on a domain:
- Login to your account
- Click on DNS in the top navigation bar
- Click on DNS Service in the menu
- Enter your domain
- Proceed through the online store checkout
- Configure all your DNS records
