DNS - Host Records - A Records

Overview

The bread and butter behind the DNS system is the A record. The A record (address record, or host record) maps a domain name to an IP address on the Internet. Please review the DNS Primer for more help on DNS records.

Activation

  • Login to your account
  • Click on DNS in the top navigation bar
  • Click on A Records in the menu

Configuration

To add A records to your account:

  • Specify a subdomain name (this can be blank)
  • Select the domain from the drop-down list
  • Specify the IP address for the given subdomain.domain combination

If you have systems with Dynamic DNS records, you will see a link to configure these special A Records.
